Launch of first workshops of “Aktashfny” Initiative to Develop Creative Talents

The “Aktashfny” initiative, launched by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, has begun. The initiative aims to discover and support the talents of people with visual and physical disabilities, while developing participants’ cultural, artistic, and creative abilities and providing them with opportunities to express and refine their talents in various fields.

The first series of training workshops began with a workshop titled “How to Write a Story”, organized by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture. The workshop was presented by writer Samah Abu Bakr Ezzat, rapporteur of the Child Culture Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture. She is considered one of the leading writers specializing in communicating with children from different backgrounds, contributing to the discovery and development of their creative talents through innovative educational and cultural methods.

The workshop targeted children with visual and physical disabilities and witnessed significant interaction from participants in an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm. This reflects the importance of providing safe and encouraging spaces for creativity and for unleashing the hidden potential of persons with disabilities.

Writer Samah Abu Bakr Ezzat explained methods of conveying ideas and information through storytelling, as well as how to transform ideas into innovative stories, helping develop participants’ imagination, creativity, and writing skills.

She also highlighted the importance of storytelling as an effective tool for raising awareness, presenting positive ideas, contributing to changing concepts and behaviors, and strengthening social values.

This workshop is part of a series of events and training programs organized by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities under the “Aktashfny” initiative, which aims to identify promising talents among persons with disabilities, empower them to express their abilities and creativity, and support their more effective inclusion in various cultural and artistic fields.
