During Tuesday’s general session, chaired by Counselor Hisham Badawi, the House of Representatives approved Presidential Decree No. 87 of 2026, endorsing Resolution No. 3 of 2025 by the Board of Shareholders of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development. This resolution amends Articles 1 and 2 of the Authority’s founding agreement to rename it the “Arab Authority for Investment and Food Security.”

The House also approved Presidential Decree No. 108 of 2026 concerning the agreement for Egypt to host the International Center for Living Aquatic Resources Management (ICLARM), also known as the WorldFish Center.

The agreement stipulates that any expert state participating in research with the regional center shall retain legal ownership of all samples originating from it, which must be kept securely in a designated location. It also provides that in the event of a dispute between the parties regarding its interpretation or application, negotiations should be pursued, and if unsuccessful, the matter shall be resolved under Egyptian law. Following approval, the Speaker of the House of Representatives adjourned the general session until Monday, July 13.
