Cairo Governorate stated that no reports or notifications of losses or damages have been received within the Cairo Governorate following the earthquake that hit Egypt at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026. The earthquake registered a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale, according to data recorded by the National Seismic Network stations under the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics.
Immediately after the tremor, all executive bodies in the governorate were placed on high alert. Meanwhile, the National Emergency and Public Safety Network Control Center at Cairo Governorate coordinated with all districts and relevant authorities to monitor the situation. Additionally, coordination was conducted with the Public Utilities Police and Civil Defense to ensure that no damage or repercussions resulted from the earthquake.
Moreover, all executive bodies in the governorate continue to monitor the situation around the clock, coordinating with the relevant authorities to respond promptly to developments.
