Cairo Governor lowers secondary school admission threshold

Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber has decided to lower the admission threshold for secondary school for the academic year 2026/2027 from 220 marks to 217 marks across all school districts, except for the following districts: El-Marg, El-Nozha, El-Matareya, and Ain Shams, to complete the required student numbers there.

Dr. Hemat Abu Kila, Director of the Education Directorate, said that the minimum admission mark was lowered in 31 school districts following a thorough study of student readiness. It also maintained the overall classroom density levels so as not to affect the progress of the educational process.
