Weather Today: Slight drop in temperatures, increased wind activity

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority announced the weather conditions expected today, Thursday, noting a slight drop in temperatures across northern parts of the country, extending to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, while hot weather will continue across most parts of the country.

The authority said there is a slight chance of light rain in parts of the northern coast and the Nile Delta, with a roughly 10% chance that rainfall could extend to limited areas of Greater Cairo and the Canal cities.

The Meteorological Authority also forecast strong winds across most parts of the country. The winds may stir up sand and dust in some areas of the northwestern coast, northern and southern Upper Egypt, parts of the Red Sea Governorate and the Western Desert, as well as some exposed areas of Greater Cairo.

The authority warned that mist will continue during the morning hours and may occasionally be dense on some roads, particularly agricultural and highways as well as roads near bodies of water. Drivers were urged to exercise caution and follow traffic instructions to ensure their safety.

The Meteorological Authority also called on citizens to follow regular weather updates, particularly due to increased wind activity and reduced horizontal visibility on some roads during the morning.

Temperatures in Cairo today, Thursday, are expected to reach 37°C, with a low of 26°C.
