Chairman of the General Authority of the National Library and Archives Dr. Osama Talaat received Chairman of the National Media Authority Ahmed El‑Moslemani and Chairman of Egyptian Radio Abdelrahman El‑Bassiouni in the presence of the Head of the Central Administration of the National Library Dr Mina Ramzi.
The meeting addressed aspects of cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the two institutions. One of the key points of the meeting focused on supporting the historical archive of the Radio and Television Building “Maspero,” ahead of signing a comprehensive cooperation protocol aimed at exchanging media and cultural expertise and competencies. The protocol seeks to preserve Egypt’s national audiovisual heritage while keeping pace with the latest technological developments in digital archiving.
During the meeting, Talaat highlighted the pivotal role of the national media in promoting cultural awareness and archiving Egypt’s heritage. Talaat also praised the anticipated cooperation with the National Media Authority concerning integrating and completing old audio and video recordings.
Meanwhile, Ahmed El‑Moslemani and Abdelrahman El‑Bassiouni commended the leading role of the National Library and Archives in maintaining the nation’s memory and its rich history.
After the meeting, Talaat and Ramzi took the guests on a comprehensive tour of the Digital Scanning Laboratory at National Library. Attendees listened to a detailed briefing on the latest techniques used in document restoration, high‑resolution digital scanning, and preservation methods designed to protect Egypt’s documentary and historical heritage.
