20 December 2025
About

Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber attended the inauguration of the 20th Cairo International Leather Fair, organized by the Leather Industry Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, held from December 19 to 21 at the Cairo International Conference Center in Nasr City.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Mona El-Batrawi, Deputy Cairo Governor; Gamal El-Samaloty, Chairman of the Leather Industry Chamber; Minister Plenipotentiary Essam Ahmed El-Naggar, Chairman of the Egypt Expo & Convention Authority (EECA); Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control; and Dr. Mohammad El-Sherif, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pyramids International Group.

Governor Saber confirmed the governorate's commitment to supporting exhibitions and organizing markets to showcase the products of Egyptian companies, civil society organizations, and productive families. He expressed pride that most of the products in the exhibition are entirely made from Egyptian components and manufacturing.

Saber added that the exhibition represents a unique opportunity to open channels of communication between experts in leather manufacturing and trade and to learn about the latest developments in the industry. This contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian leather products in both local and global markets.

Moreover, Saber stated that the state has established a leather complex in Al-Amal City, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. This initiative aims to support the leather industry, create job opportunities, promote self-sufficiency, reduce imports by increasing local production, and encourage exports.

This year's exhibition features extensive participation from both local and international manufacturers, with buyers and importers from 14 countries in attendance. This reflects the growing global interest in Egyptian industry and its capacity to compete in foreign markets. The exhibition showcases approximately 150 companies and factories representing more than 250 brands.

The exhibition welcomes buyers from Jordan, Iraq, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia, Palestine, Yemen, and other countries, reflecting confidence in Egyptian products and the promising opportunities the event offers for direct contracts.

This year’s edition features international participation from companies based in China, Turkey, and Pakistan, alongside Egyptian firms, fostering a competitive environment that promotes the transfer of expertise and the expansion of partnerships.

The exhibition is not merely a showcase for products; it serves as a comprehensive platform for communication between manufacturers and importers, facilitating deal-making and exploring long-term cooperation opportunities. This supports the state's strategy to increase industrial exports.
