President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday directed
continued and intensified efforts to curb inflation and increase spending on
health, education and social protection.
El-Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with Prime
Minister Mostafa Madbouly to review a range of political, economic and social
files on the government’s agenda.
Madbouly outlined efforts to expand social protection
measures for the most vulnerable, as well as ongoing work to develop the
education and healthcare sectors.
He also reviewed plans to advance comprehensive
development, attract investment, increase exports and localize industry under
Egypt Vision 2030.
The president stressed the need to secure sufficient
supplies of strategic goods to meet the country’s needs in light of current
regional and global developments.
He also underscored the importance of monitoring
markets and ensuring the availability of food commodities.
El-Sisi also reviewed preparations with the prime
minister for the inauguration of the new campus of L’Université Senghor (Senghor
University) in Borg El Arab later this month.
The president said the project reflects strong
cooperation between Egypt and its international partners and supports
development and capacity-building efforts in Africa.
He highlighted the university’s role in providing an
integrated educational environment for students from African and Francophone
countries.
