The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued
a warning regarding unstable weather conditions expected across the country on
Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14.
The Authority noted a high probability of rain of
varying intensities across scattered areas of northern Egypt, the Red Sea
Governorate, and Sinai. Wind speeds are expected to range between 40 and 50
km/h across most regions.
The EMA also cautioned that increased wind activity
may stir up sand and dust in some areas, even as temperatures continue to rise
nationwide.
On Thursday, temperatures are expected to continue
their upward trend. The forecast indicates cool conditions in the early morning
hours, followed by warm weather across most of the country during the day. While
Upper Egypt is expected to become hot, the entire country will see a return to
cool temperatures after sunset.
Heavy fog is anticipated between 4:00 AM and 9:00 AM,
affecting northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, northern Upper
Egypt, and central Sinai. Travelers should exercise caution and remain alert
while driving, as the fog may become particularly dense on certain highways and
desert roads.
There is a slight chance of light rain in parts of the
Western Desert and Upper Egypt, with a lower probability of approximately 20%
that light showers may reach Greater Cairo at intervals.
Winds reaching speeds of 30 to 35 km/h are expected
along the northern coast, the Nile Delta, and Greater Cairo, which may lead to
blowing sand and dust in parts of the Western Desert.
