Egypt’s
Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli affirmed the government’s commitment to
strengthening partnerships with leading international companies, particularly
in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
He also underscored
the state’s strong focus on expanding clean energy projects as part of Egypt’s
strategy to transition toward a more sustainable economy and increase reliance
on renewable energy sources.
These remarks came
during a meeting the premier called with Mohammad Amer, Executive Vice
President of the Norwegian company Scatec for the Middle East and North Africa
region.
The meeting aimed to
follow up on the implementation status of the company’s projects in Egypt and
explore opportunities for expanding its investments across several sectors.
Eng. Randa El-Menshawi,
Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and Eng. Ahmed Omran,
Deputy Minister of Housing for the Utilities Sector, took part in the meeting.
According to Cabinet
Spokesman Mohammad El-Homosani, discussions focused on the progress of Scatec’s
ongoing projects in the renewable energy sector and electricity storage
systems.
The meeting further
reviewed the company’s future expansion plans in these fields, including
potential co-operation in green hydrogen production.
In addition,
participants examined opportunities for implementing infrastructure projects
and seawater desalination initiatives, in line with Egypt’s efforts to maximize
its capabilities and resources across multiple development sectors.
The discussions
highlighted Egypt’s continued commitment to attracting strategic investments
and supporting projects that contribute to sustainable development and the
diversification of the country’s energy sources.
