The
Ministry of Health and Population has signed a memorandum of understanding
(MoU) with Spain’s Barraquer Ophthalmology Center to enhance ophthalmology
services, transfer advanced expertise, and strengthen bilateral health
cooperation.
The agreement comes
in the wake of the visit of Spain’s King Felipe VI to Egypt and reflects
growing cooperation between the two countries in the healthcare sector.
Under the MoU, the
two sides will collaborate to improve diagnosis, treatment and prevention of
eye diseases in Egypt through knowledge exchange, training of medical staff,
joint research programs, and the organization of scientific conferences and
workshops.
A joint committee
will be formed to oversee this collaboration, with the Spanish center
supporting the management of complex cases under the supervision of the health
ministry.
