Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced
Tuesday the launch of the first comprehensive professional training program in
Egypt in the fields of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography
(CT), in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and with
technical cooperation from Siemens Healthineers.
This program is a significant strategic step to
enhance the efficiency of Egyptian medical personnel and improve the quality of
diagnostic services within the healthcare system, while also opening
international career opportunities for young Egyptians.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson
for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the program aims to
prepare a generation of Egyptian radiology technicians to abide by
international standards, qualifying national talent for job opportunities in
the German market through an accredited professional pathway linking the two
countries.
Trainees will receive a comprehensive package of
benefits, including intensive four months of theoretical and practical training
on the latest technologies, in addition to free German language courses up to
the B2 level.
Abdel Ghaffar added: “The program also relies on a
hybrid learning system that combines online training with in-person sessions at
the Siemens Academy in Cairo. Full accommodation is provided for trainees
coming from outside Cairo Governorate, ensuring equal opportunities for
participants from all governorates.”
Dr. Mohamed Fawzy, Advisor to the Minister of Health
for Radiology, indicated that the Ministry has established clear and precise
criteria for selecting the best candidates.
These criteria include that applicants be Egyptian
citizens residing within the country, hold a diploma from a health technical
institute or a Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Sciences, be between 21
and 40 years old, and have at least three years of practical experience in CT
and MRI.
Proficiency in technical English, the ability to use
digital tools professionally, and adherence to the training schedule are also
required. Priority will be given to those with basic knowledge of German.
The first cohort of the program targets only 50
trainees, with the application deadline being Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Candidates who meet the requirements will be contacted to schedule personal
interviews.
