Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber, accompanied by Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Dr. Sherif Farouq and Executive Director of Egypt's Future Authority for Sustainable Development Dr. Bahaa El-Ghannam, inaugurated the Kolayat Al-Bannat branch of the largest government-owned retail chain, “Carry On,” as well as the Amireya and Sayeda Zaynab branches via video conference.

The newly inaugurated retail chain, affiliated with the Holding Company for Food Industries under the Ministry of Supply, aligns with the directives of the political leadership to consistently provide citizens with high-quality, affordable goods and food products.

During the inauguration, Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber praised the launch of the initiative, which aims to restructure and promote national companies' products by ensuring high quality and competitive prices lower than those of their market counterparts. The initiative also seeks to modernize retail outlets to align with contemporary standards for displaying goods and services, offering consumers affordable prices and high-quality specifications. This objective will be achieved by updating the overall appearance, improving management and pricing systems, and implementing digital transformation in transactions within these outlets.

Additionally, the initiative involves converting several ration grocery stores into modern supermarkets, upgrading multiple outlets of the "Gam'iyati” project to hypermarkets, and modernizing various outlets affiliated with the Holding Company for Food Industries within the "Carry On" system.

The inauguration was also attended by Deputy Cairo Governor Mona El-Batrawi, Chairman of the Holding Company for Food Industries Alaa Nagi, Director of the Supply Directorate Abdel Baset Abdel Naeem, and several officials from the Cairo Governorate, the Ministry of Supply, and the Holding Company for Food Industries.

Moreover, Governor Saber said the governorate aims to expand the establishment of additional outlets and product sales exhibitions across Cairo’s districts to stabilize market prices alongside the availability of mobile outlets to offer goods at affordable prices to citizens. Saber added that there is strict price control within these exhibitions.
