Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal joined citizens’ celebrations on Monday, marking Sham El-Nessim Spring Festival at the International Park in the Madinet Nasr neighborhood. While the governor was there, he also distributed roses, sweets, and toys to children playing in the park amid a high turnout of citizens.  

That came during the governor’s inspection tour to follow up on preparations for the Sham El-Nessim holiday in parks across Cairo. He was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, Chairman of the Department of Specialized Parks Mohammad Sultan, Chief of Sharq Madinet Nasr District Ahmad Gouda, and several officials of Cairo governorate.

During his tour, the governor stressed the importance of keeping the citizens, celebrating Sham El-Nessim, comfortable and happy, and distributing plastic bags to collect waste to keep the park clean. 

Moreover, the governor urged chiefs of Cairo’s districts to intensify inspection campaigns to ensure that all citizens have access to all services.

The governor also instructed Cairo’s Health Directorate, in coordination with Supply and Veterinary Medicine Directorates, to take all necessary precautionary measures during the Sham El-Nessim Spring Festival and intensify crackdowns on markets, especially shops selling frozen meat and poultry, shops of fresh, manufactured, and preserved fish, bakeries, and outlets selling food commodities to ensure quality and validity of products. He also directed relevant authorities to confiscate invalid and infringed products to protect the public health of citizens and take legal action against violators.  

The governor further asserted that the Central Operations Room of Cairo governorate works 24/7 to receive complaints from citizens about violations via the hotline 15496 to take immediate necessary legal actions against violators.
