Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli
has issued directives to review a draft of Egyptian tourism promotion strategy
during the upcoming meeting of the ministerial tourism committee.
This came during a meeting held by
Madbouli Monday evening to review the draft of Egyptian tourism promotion
strategy, which was prepared by one of the international entities.
The study aims to draw up a
strategy for Egyptian tourism backed by governmental efforts in order to
promote the tourism sector, said Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled El
Anani, who attended the meeting along with representatives of the consultancy
office, who prepared the strategy.
The consultancy office, which
prepared the study, groups a host of experts from the various nationalities,
added the minister.
The consultancy office started
updating the strategy 18 months ago through a direct partnership between the
Egyptian Tourism Federation (ETF) and the Tourism and Antiquities Ministry, he
further said.
For their part, the officials of
the international consultancy office hailed the infrastructure work carried out
in Egypt over the past years as well as the legislations and decisions which
were endorsed in the tourism sector.
Such efforts will contribute to
achieving a qualitative leap in the tourism sector, they added.
The proposed strategy was prepared
with the effective participation of the tourism private sector, they further
said.
