Cairo Gov. makes an inspection tour of consumer complexes
Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal made on Tuesday a sudden inspection tour of consumer complexes, markets, and bakeries across Cairo to ensure the availability of food commodities at affordable prices.
During his tour, the governor asserted the state’s interest in providing commodities at affordable prices, noting several outlets offering low-price food commodities would be launched all over Cairo, especially in the neediest areas.
Moreover, the governor stressed the necessity of displaying price tags on commodities for consumers following the directives of political leadership. He also directed intensified follow-up on subsidized bread bakeries to ensure the bread’s quality and conformity to specifications.
During his tour, the governor also listened to citizens’ opinions about the availability of commodities and their quality, assuring the continuity of crackdown on markets and shops to control and monitor prices.
Furthermore, the governor urged districts’ chiefs to coordinate with Cairo’s Directorate of Supply to intensify the crackdown on bakeries and consumer complexes to prevent monopoly and price hikes of commodities.
The governor was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Dr. Hossam El-Din Fawzy, Director of Supply Directorate Abdel Naeem Hamed, and several officials of Cairo governorate.
