The restoration of the renovated wooden flap of the Ablution fountain dome of Sultan Hassan Mosque is completed.
Dr. Osama Talat, head of the Islamic, Coptic, and Jewish antiquities sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said that restoration work on the part of the flap that fell last Friday is done and completed yesterday.
He added that the dome and the mosque are in good condition and that the part that fell is not the original part nor is it part of the Ablution fountain dome. He explained that it was renovated when the Arab Antiquities Preservation Committee replaced the dilapidated original flap with a new modern one which fell today due to erosion. fell due to the factors of age and Erosion.
