Communication min., Cairo gov. inaugurate Mokattam, Amireya post offices

Minister of Communication and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inaugurated the Mokattam and Amireya post offices after renovation.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Cairo Governor Hossam El-Din Fawzy, Chairman of the National Egypt Post Authority Dr. Sharif Farouk, and several officials of the Cairo governorate and the Ministry of Communication.

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal praised the fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Communication in providing advanced services that benefit the citizens.

Abdel Aal also noted post offices, with a history dating back nearly 160 years, now efficiently deliver many e-government services after being developed and equipped with the latest advanced systems and technological solutions as part of the comprehensive strategic plan implemented by the government to improve services provided to citizens, given that the post is one of the channels for Egypt's digital services and a key pillar in implementing the state's digital transformation plan and achieving financial inclusion.

Abdel Aal added the Egyptian government has made significant efforts to develop the digital infrastructure of Egypt Post, enhance its efficiency, utilize the latest global applications and systems to provide postal, financial, and governmental services, and leverage these advanced technologies to meet the needs of citizens in a secure, reliable, and at affordable prices.

Moreover, Abdel Aal said the Egyptian Postal Service has witnessed a quantum leap over the past years in terms of services, offices, and employee training, aiming to improve the level of services provided at the offices. Citizens can now pay traffic fines, obtain birth certificates, family records, marriage and divorce certificates, death certificates, renew national ID cards, pay electricity, water, and gas bills, and access various other financial and postal services.

Abdel Aal also pointed out that the post offices are staffed by employees trained by the Ministry of Communication to provide services to customers efficiently and with the required quality.
