Cairo Gov. receives African Ministers of Local Development

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal received Tuesday Ministers of Local Development of Burundi, Eswatini, Libya, Malawi, Morocco, Niger, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, along with several representatives of several African cities to the North Africa Regional Office in Cairo, who arrived in Egypt to attend the fourth regular session of the African Ministers of Local Development Conference on issues of public service, local governments, urban development, and decentralization.

 

The Conference is held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi from August 29 to August 31.  

 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, Secretary-General Alaa Rashad, and Advisor to the Minister of Local Development Ambassador Mohammad Hegazi.

 

During his speech, Cairo Governor welcomed the African ministers and representatives. He also asserted that the North Africa Regional Office in Cairo was established to be a platform for African joint action and a beacon for all African leaders working on finding solutions to challenges facing the African continent.

 

Abdel Aal also affirmed that Egypt’s leadership and Government are keen to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and its sister African countries. 

 

Moreover, Abdel Aal emphasized that Cairo attaches great importance to the African continent’s interests and is keen to preserve its heritage and culture as well as support the African efforts and visions to overcome all developmental challenges.

 

Abdel Aal added that the North Africa Regional Office in Cairo serves as a bridge of communication across the African continent and reflects the distinctive strong relations between African countries.
