Cairo Gov. attends 33rd Islamic Affairs Int’l Conference
Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal
attended Saturday, September 24, the 33rd International Conference
of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs held under the auspices of President
Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Egyptian Minister of Religious
Endowments Dr. Mokhtar Gomaa inaugurated the conference on behalf of Prime
Minister Mustafa Madbouli under the title” Ijtihad is a necessity of the era; its
forms, its rules, its men, and need for it.”
The conference will last two days with the participation of more than
200 ministers, muftis, intellectuals, scholars, and media figures from 55
countries.
The conference will focus on five themes: Ijtihad, an urgent necessity
of the present, its forms and regulations, mujtahids (scholars who practice
ijtihad) and how to prepare them, pressing contemporary models in economic,
medical, veterinarian, and environment fields as well as selected models of
institutional ijtihad.
