Cairo Gov. inaugurates first lung cancer detection campaign
Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inaugurated
Tuesday the first medical campaign organized by the National Cancer Institute for
early detection and to raise awareness of lung cancer in the Rawdet El-Sayeda Zeinab
area in the presence of Mohammad Abdel Moati, Director of the National Cancer
Institute.
During the inauguration ceremony, Abdel
Aal emphasized that the Rawdet El-Sayeda alternative housing project is one of
the architecturally outstanding projects built in the framework of the state’s
national plan to eliminate informal settlements and relocate its residents to
more decent houses.
Abdel Aal added that the ongoing development
projects not only aims to build civilized housing units but also to provide a decent
life to the residents and their future generation.
Moreover, Abdel Aal hailed the social
roles of Cairo university and the cancer institute for early detection of diseases
and follow-up on detected cases.
The campaign aims to raise health awareness about lung diseases and addiction
treatment in cooperation with the Addiction Treatment & Abuse Fund.
Abdel Aal was
accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Eng. Jihan Abdel Moneim and Assistant
Secretary-General Ibrahim Awad.
