Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inaugurated Thursday Qandil Om Hashem Public Park in El-Sayeda Zeinab neighborhood at cost of 4.5 million EGP as a fund of the National Bank of Egypt as part of the area’s development plan.
Abdel Aal pointed out that the governorate always seeks to increase green spaces across Cairo. He further praised the role of civil society in supporting the executive bodies of the governorate to improve the quality of life for citizens.
The park is on 4 thousand acres and includes 4 pergolas, 30 wooden benches, and restrooms for men and women to serve the visitors.
The development works included upgrading the landscape and installing new light poles designed in Islamic style . It also included painting the facades of the surrounding buildings.
The inauguration was attended by Deputy Cairo Governor for Cairo’s south area Jihan Abdel Moneim, representatives of the National Bank of Egypt Hossam El-Haggar and Essam Mosbah, and several officials of the Cairo governorate.
