30th Arab Music Festival celebrates centenary of legendary Lebanese singer Wadi’ el-Safi on Nov. 7
The 30th Arab Music Festival and Conference will celebrate
the centenary of the Legendary Lebanese singer Wadi’ el-Safi in a ceremony held
on November 7 at 8 p.m. at the Fountain Theater.
During the celebration, the ensemble will perform, led by
Maestro Selim Sahab, presenting a group of heritage compositions, as well as a
number of Safi's works. This will be preceded by a performance by the singer
Ayat Farouk.
At 7 p.m., the Talent Development Center, under the
supervision of the artist Abdel Wahab el-Sayed, will present a concert for the
oriental rhythm class at the Outdoor Theater.
At 8 p.m., a concert will be held within the Wahabiyat
series on the Institute of Arab Music's stage, where the star Mohammed el-Helou
will perform, accompanied by the orchestra led by Maestro Farouk Al-Babli, and
with the participation of Yehia Abdel Halim and Reem Kamal.
Simultaneously on the stage of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina,
the star Medhat Saleh, accompanied by the famous pianist Amr Selim, will
perform a concert that is preceded by a performance for the First Royal
Ensemble for Music and Folk Arts, and a musical segment by the Iraqi Qanun
player Furat Qadrouy and the Defaf Degla Ensemble.
