Egypt succeeded in enlisting the festivals related to the journey of the Holy Family in Egypt on the UNESCO intangible heritage list.
This was announced by the International Intergovernmental Committee of the Organization for the Safeguarding of Intangible Culture Heritage during its 17th session held in Rabat, Morocco.
These celebrations include hymns, foods, and crafts, related to the Holy family’s route. It also includes the Holy Family's entry into Egypt on the 1st of June, the celebrations in Kom Maria in Minya in February, and the Feast of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in August.
