Cairo Governor
Khaled Abdel Aal said Wednesday that Cairo’s Directorate of Endowments finished
its preparations for the holy month of Ramadan, noting that the directorate distributed
100 thousand food boxes to the most vulnerable groups in coordination with the
Social Solidarity Directorate. He added that mosques would hold more than 300
charity Iftar tables to offer hot meals for fasting people, and 4 tons of meat would
also be distributed on the first day of Ramadan to the families of the Takaful
and Karama program.
Meanwhile, the
Director of the Endowments Directorate, Khaled Salah, asserted that the
directorate made an unprecedented plan to spread the call during the holy month
of Ramadan by hosting several social and religious activities, adding the
Taraweeh prayer would be broadcasted on TV from the Hussein Mosque.
Salah also said that
500 mosques are ready for the Itikaf ritual following the regulations set by
the Ministry of Endowments and 287 mosques for cultural activities for
children.
Moreover, the
directorate will organize more than 2800 intellectual forums across Cairo
during Ramadan, such as forums held at the Hussein Mosque and Al-Fath Mosque, where
a host of Imams, Quran reciters, scholars, and university professors will participate,
Salah added.
