Cairo Gov. directs demolishing illegal buildings, encroachments
Cairo Governor
Khaled Abdel Aal directed districts’ chiefs and the Department of Spatial
Variables to remove any construction violations, illegal buildings, and
encroachments on state-owned lands and to take necessary actions to prevent
such violations and preserve restored lands.
The governor’s
remarks came during the meeting he chaired to discuss ways of maximizing the achievements
of Cairo governorate’s Spatial Variables Department in the presence of deputy governors,
secretary-general, assistant secretary-general, director of systems, technical support,
and spatial variables in the Ministry of Local Development, director of spatial
variables in the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, and several
executives of Cairo governorate.
During the meeting, Abdel
Aal asserted that demolishing illegal buildings and removing any construction
violations is a top priority for Cairo governorate’s executive bodies following
the instructions of political leadership to consolidate the rule of law and
confront illegal construction and encroachments on state and agricultural lands,
waterways, and the Nile River.
Moreover, Abdel Aal
pointed out that the spatial variables system continually monitors and detects all violations and encroachments to deal with them instantly and
take necessary legal actions.
