After the inauguration, Amnna and Abdel Aal made a tour of inspection of the fair’s outlets to follow up on the prices and quality of products and commodities.

Moreover, Amnna hailed the displayed products’ quality and discount prices, such as basic food commodities, vegetables, and fruits.

Amnna also directed the executive bodies of the Cairo governorate to intensify inspection campaigns on outlets and stores across Cairo to prevent price manipulation and merchants’ attempts to monopolize commodities. He also ordered to take all necessary legal actions against violators.

Amnna added that those fairs and outlets come as part of the state’s intensified efforts to expand outlets nationwide to meet citizens’ needs and alleviate their burdens, especially in densely populated areas and neediest neighborhoods.

For his part, Abdel Aal asserted that in light of the political leadership’s directives to pay special attention to citizens’ needs and improve the quality of living conditions, the Cairo governorate is establishing more fairs and outlets offering foodstuffs and commodities at affordable prices in all districts.

Furthermore, Abdel Aal pointed out that Cairo has over 2600 fixed and mobile outlets, 130 of which are newly opened in cooperation with Cairo’s Supply Directorate and the Chamber of Commerce across the capital, especially in neediest areas, while more than 270 outlets were established in coordination with civil society organizations and NGOs to ease burdens on citizens.

Abdel Aal added that the governorate continues establishing outlets across the capital, emphasizing the availability of all commodities, including rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, poultry, meat, fish, vegetables, and fruit.

Abdel Aal also added that those outlets receive a high turnout from citizens, given they offer low price commodities.

Abdel Aal also confirmed that the executive bodies of the Cairo governorate intensify inspection campaigns in all Cairo’s areas and neighborhoods to ensure the availability of sufficient food commodities at affordable prices and to control and monitor markets to prevent commercial fraud, manipulation, and monopoly. He also urged to take all necessary legal actions against violators and to make sure that merchants display clear legible price tags on each commodity.
