Cairo Governor, Director of Slum Development Fund inaugurate productive families' fair
Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal and
the Executive Director of Slum Development Fund Eng. Khaled Sediq inaugurated
the productive Families' exhibition in the Rawdet Al-Sayeda area organized by
the Slum Development Fund in coordination with the Cairo governorate as part of
the "Talbatak
Awamer" initiative. The initiative aims at marketing the products of the
area's residents who were trained in several crafts to help them find income. The
exhibition included handicrafts, garments, leather products, and hand-made
candles and soap.
Abdel Aal said that Rawdet Al-Sayeda development
project is one of the unique architecture projects which was implemented under
the instructions of Egypt's political leadership to eliminate unsafe informal areas
and provide its residents with a decent life.
Moreover, the governor praised the
role of the Slum Development Fund and the collaborative efforts between the Cairo
governorate and the development fund to implement the state's national projects
to eliminate slums. He added that the ongoing national development projects aim
to build housing units as well as provide a decent life to the residents and
have a positive effect on future generations.
The "Talbatak Awamer"
initiative aims to fulfill the needs of the residents as several cultural and
entertainment trips were organized as well as planting trees in the area and providing
necessary tools for children to develop their creativity.
For his part, the Executive Director of the
Slum Development Fund Eng. Khaled Sediq assured that the ongoing development
project in the Rawdet Al-Sayeda area will include five phases, pointing out
that the project is one of the state's most important development
projects.
