Governor Khaled Abdel Aal received on Friday the Portuguese Ambassador to Cairo
H.E Manuela Franco as part of Cairo governorate's efforts to boost relations with
foreign and Arab ambassadors to Cairo.
During the
meeting, the governor emphasized that Egypt appreciates and cherishes its friendship
with Portugal and its people, adding that the capital of Egypt is keen to
enhance cooperation between Cairo governorate and the Portuguese Embassy.
Moreover,
Abdel Aal reviewed during the meeting the state's efforts to restore Cairo's
former glory, especially mega national projects inaugurated in Asmarat district
as well as new bridges and road axes which aims to improve the living standards
of Cairo's citizens.
The governor
added that the Egyptian state's fight against terrorism allowed more
development and improvement in the services provided to citizens assuring that
the development efforts in Egypt include both human and place.
For her part, the Portuguese Ambassador
showed her willingness to exchange Portugal's expertise with Cairo and explain
the Portuguese experiment to benefit from tourism until it formed 17% of Portugal's
GDP.
At the end of the meeting,
both sides have agreed to sign a and friendship cooperation agreement between
Cairo and Lisbon to promote cooperation between the two sides.
