Investment’s elements in Cairo

Cairo Governorate has issued several decrees outlining the investment’s elements in Cairo including

 
  • Cairo Governor Decree no.256 of 1985 approving the allocation of 4000 acres in Katamia to reconstruct the area for the project of urban expansion in Katamia area.
  • Cairo Governor Decree no. 579 of 1990 approving the general planning of the project of urban expansion in Katamia area. 
  • Cairo Governor Decree no. 203 of 1995 approving the detailed plan and the structural and technical requirements for the location of the investment services activities of the project of urban expansion in Katamia area.
  • Cairo Governor Decree no. 668 of 1999 approving to change the use of some lands allocated for the project of urban expansion in Katamia area.
  • Cairo Governor Decree no. 1568 of 2001 approving to make some amendments to the general planning of the Marble and Granite industrial zone, Shak El-Thoaban area.    
  • In 1997, Cairo began a new phase of investment as an executive body of investment was formed and headed by Dr. Abdel Rehim Shehata, Cairo governor at the time. In addition, the investors’ service office was reformed.    

 

In 1999, Cairo Governorate took the following actions:

 
  • Setting up urban planning for all the investment zones in Cairo
  • Surveying and defining the boundaries of the allocated lands.
  • Road constructions
  • Identifying routes for utilities below and above ground.
  • Receiving and studying investors’ proposals.
  • Delivering the land plots to investors.
 
Since 2000, Cairo Governorate has been providing the necessary support to investors to start their own business by introducing them to the available investment opportunities in Cairo and allocating land plots for the proposed projects. It has also implemented several projects concerning (housing- education- health care- industry- sport).
