Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inspected Saturday the ongoing demolition of the informal settlements adjacent to the Magra El-Oyoun Fence area in Old Cairo after disbursing suitable compensations to the residents.
Abdel Aal said that the demolition comes within the framework of the state’s plan and following directives of the political leadership to eliminate informal settlements across the capital and provide decent life and housing to the residents of the informal settlements.
Abdel Aal added that the demolition work is also part of the comprehensive development plan implemented by the state in the Fustat and Old Cairo area to restore the civilized features of this historic area.
Abdel Aal was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Jihan Abdel Moneim, Assistant Secretary-General Yahia El-Adgham, Chief of Masr Al-Qadima district Mohammad El-Sayed Leila, and several officials of Cairo governorate.
