Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inspected Sunday surrounding area of the Hussein Mosque in Old Cairo after renovations as part of the state’s plan to restore and preserve the mosques and shrines of Al Al-Bayt (the family of Prophet Mohammad peace and prayers be upon him) across Cairo.
Abdel Aal was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Ibrahim Abdel Hadi and several executives of the Cairo governorate.
During his tour, Abdel Aal stressed the need to remove waste and street occupancies and upgrade pavements and curbs so that worshipers could access the mosque easily.
The Hussein Mosque was closed temporarily to speed up the renovation work carried out by the Egyptian Armed Forces Engineering Authority according to the protocol signed with the Ministry of Endowments, the Ashraf Syndicate, and the Mosques’ institution.
The mosque’s renovation included its courtyard and surrounding area, and it was reopened yesterday to receive worshipers to perform Ishaa and Tarawih prayers.
